Our Penutzels ( Peanut Butter Chocolate Pretzels ) have been one of our most popular items since the early 80’s . The original peanutzel was actually a real peanut butter like Skippy ; sandwiched between two mini pretzels and then chocolate covered. As years have gone by and demand increased we changed the manufacturing of our Peanutzels and created a new product with the same concept, only better.
I have had customers compare the Peanutzel to the Iconic KandyKake made by Tastykake. Ive also heard them compared to as a triple threat, crunchy Rees’e Peanut Butter Cups. All of these comparisons are compliments to me. These pioneers of peanut butter and chocolate have lead the way, for “If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.”
Peanut butter chocolate pretzels – Peanutzels customer favorite at the Reading Terminal and our most shipped item during the winter months. We may not have created the wheel but we certainly made our own contribution to the betterment of this flavor romance.
Here is what the Philadelphia Inquires legend of Food Writing Rick Nichols had to say , (who i just made Chocolate Teeth with Gold Foiled Fillings for his dentist, but i digress. )
Pretzels with a Past.

Dark chocolate is the only way to go. Except for a variation we came across-several years late, it appears- the other day.
Its’s a plump peanut-butter-and-milk-chocolate-dipped pretzels that the Chocolate By Mueller folks make at their busy Reading Terminal Market Stand.
For longtime Philadelphians, there’s something resonant and irresistible about the coating: Its and dead ringer for the one on Tanday Takes ( rechristened “Kandy Kakes“ years ago by Tastykake company), the chocolate-and-peanut-butter-enrobed yellow cakes that have long been a beloved Tastykake stalwart.”
